Vessel Motors
Vessel Motors was my Senior Thesis. Taking into consideration the resources and time I created a project scope, brand guidelines, social media ads, printed ads and website for the brand.
This was to display both the brand's core values and the function of the guidelines. Recording the hours devoted to each phase the project showed the begin and end of a section. The creation of a brand to the implementation to the creation and posting of digital and printed advertisements.
Branding
About:
The Vessel throughout time was known as a ship which harnessed kinetic energy from natural elements (Air) to transport people across the world. Vessel looks to these transportation means as inspiration to understanding the impact of cars on our environments. Committed to creating an era powered by one of the most powerful phenomena in the universe, electricity.
Mission:
“Our goal is to create efficient, durable, and high-performance vehicles for as many markets as possible in an effort to create sustainability in transportation and push the evolution of car design.”
Slogan:
“Follow the Light”
Archetype: Everyman
Vessel pushes the boundaries by designing competitive cars across all markets while beating prices. Their focus on helping young generations purchase vehicles shows a hybrid of Everyman and Hero.
Target Market:
Vessel’s target market is between the ages of 23–40 who are looking for affordable high-performance electric vehicles with new concepts, helping move toward an era where electric cars dominate the market.
Project Scope
When planning my project scope I front loaded investing plenty of hours into the research phase knowing my competitive research and market studies would guide my design work. The branding was a refresh since I repurposed concepts and designs from my sophomore year. The website was built from the ground up.
The advertising was also a large phase because I wanted to display how the brand functioned across different design spaces. It is important to note that the production and print time are included in the total hours.
Deliverables
The deliverables were straight forward stating what I would work on and what would be delivered. Creating an outline which made sense after each phase was completed. Moving from one section to the next was easy after establishing a voice, brand and asset library.

Website
The website design was wireframed and content was included based on user experience. Asking myself questions about what consumers expect when visiting a car brands site. What would the landing page contain? How could products be displayed so they were easy to locate? What kind of information would a buyer want to know about the car? These questions guided me in creating parts of a site that would be helpful and easy to maneuver.
Social Media ads
Creating two sets of ads for two different target markets. The first for car enthusiasts to display the style and design of the vehicles. The second was for people in the market wanting to buy a car based on affordability including information like starting prices and possible payment plans.
Printed Material
I focused on spaces where people might be thinking about transportation. Understanding that this fictitious brand would be new to the market I selected locations where there would be heavy traffic and a large population of people moving throughout it.
Specifically thinking about who might be interested in buying a new car? People who take the subway or use public transportation seem like good choices. I also included common printed material like an envelope and a truck that would be moving car parts for these vehicles.
