Creativity has always been the domain I call home
Born in Guatemala and raised in Kansas city, KS. Creativity has always been something I gravitate towards. Traditional or Digital, creating something and seeing it all come together both fascinated me and motivated me. I began using Adobe products, specifically Illustrator, Indesign and Photoshop in 2011.
As I grew older I was introduced to different fields within the large field of Design. I made sure that the life I constructed would revolve around my creative growth intellectually, physically and mentally. Making sure that all fields that I worked in brought me knowledge about Design, Creativity or Art.
My Creative Overview
School Age Art Fanatic
In grade school I enjoyed Art classes. The process of making a gift for someone felt wholesome and unique. From making Christmas decorations for my mother to drawing landscapes. My favorite project was learning how to create a book. I also entered a drawing contest and my work was selected to be displayed at the school district's office. All these achievements fueled my consistency in Creativity.

Adolescence Years
Middle School Novice
My passion for creating led me to take all art classes available in middle and high school. Learning software like inkpad and Art Studio in middle school paved the way to learning complex software due to them sharing common operating styles.
High School Apprentice
By sophomore year I understood the process of designing something on screen and following it through production to printing and finally the final product. Spending my summers working for my high school in the printshop I printed planners, Business cards, graph sheets for math teachers and much more.
National Competitor
Sophomore year set the trajectory of my focus till the end of my high school experience. Winning Kansas State for Advertising and Design leading to attending Nationals. I placed 34th but continued to enter competitions to prepare my portfolio for college.
Avocation
Hiking
One of my favorite pastimes is hiking or back packing. It helps me disconnect from the virtual world and stay in the present. I find it to be rewarding due to the effort taken to reach certain spots in national parks. It is something that has to be earned which I find to be a lot of fun. When I am on vacation hiking will definitely be on the to do list for the day.
Camping
Of course camping goes hand in hand with Hiking but, compared to being on a trail it can be relaxing. I often catch up on reading, draw views from the nearby campsite or enjoy socializing. The level of preparation and planning is entertaining.
Reading
Reading is another hobby of mine. I enjoy reading books that enlighten or expand my views of the world or subjects. A few subjects I read often are Art History, Philosophy, Design, Psychology or Art and Design textbooks. I have listed what I am currently reading now.
The Ethics, 1677, Baruch Spinoza
Designing Type, 2020, Karen Cheng
The Art of War, 2005, Niccolo Machiavelli Translated by Christopher Lynch
