72 Years of Performance

Problem: Promote an event to be displayed at your chosen Non-Profit. Conduct background research on other Non-Profits and similar events. Create a logo and promotional materials for the event.

Target Audience: The target market for this event are car enthusiasts, F1 fans and engineers. Males between the ages of 16-65. The audience would mimic that of an audience of a car show or trade show.

Solution: I created an exhibition focused on the evolution of sports cars. Looking back at 72 years of sports cars. I felt focusing the brand on the modern day F1 race cars as a demonstration of the scale of evolution the sports automobiles have accomplished in a little under 100 years. Thinking about how a sports car's top speed 80 years ago was 80 mph compared to F1 racing's top speed of 234 mph today. The location selected was the Detroit Museum of Art, this seemed correct since Detroit has a long history of being an automobile manufacturing powerhouse.

Exhibition Tickets

Designing admission tickets that tie back to all the other communication materials was important. The consistent design of marketing materials helps in creating a cohesive and universal experience across printed materials or digital. Including a short paragraph of what the attendee will be able to learn about and a QR code to make admission as smooth as possible.

Promotional Poster Ad

Creating a promotional poster that could be handed out at the exhibition as a piece of memorabilia. Including the sponsor, event and date under the primary logo. The right hand side is an illustration of a racer sitting at the starting line portraying the intensity of those first moments before the race begins. The reflection in bright colors shows the timer counting down before the flags are dropped.

Poster Ads

The posters combine the retro feel of the 80’s race car paint jobs with modern F1 cars. The poster's design idea was to display the old engineering (vintage photo effect) achieving a new level of performance and speed (Modern F1 cars & Blur effects).

Banners

The banner designs were created to show the influence of F1 racing while carrying the retro style with the racing stripes. The Horizontal logo was included to reinforce the exhibition branding. These would be place outside of the building for the duration of the exhibition.
